The Organization of Petroleum Exporting countries ((OPEC)) on Tuesday raised its forecast for global oil demand growth this year in anticipation that the epidemic will subside, boosting efforts by the OPEC and its allies to support the market.

In precious metals, COMEX gold futures closed higher on Tuesday after data showed a sharp rise in US inflation, boosting the attractiveness of gold as a hedge against inflation and depressing the dollar.
