Argent Minerals: starts drilling for West Wyalong Copper and Gold Project

(recently reported, Argent Minerals (ASX:ARD) confirmed the start of drilling activities for highly promising copper-gold-molybdenum porphyry in its majority-owned West Wyalong project in central New South Wales.

It is reported that the hole to be drilled is the first exploration carried out by the project since 2017, when the plan set the targets for Theia and Narragudgil. By reviewing existing data and implementing the target principles for the generation of 3D inversion models, geophysical and geochemical modeling completed in 2019 identified other targets in Hyperion and Helios.

Argent said that the molybdenum and copper mineralization in the two planned holes of the current program vector is located near a westward strong magnetic high gravity target, similar to the pattern of Newcrest Mining (ASX:NCM) world-class Cadia Ridgeway deposits.

The all-terrain X350 reverse cycle drilling rig owned by Strike Drilling is carrying out this activity as part of a strategic agreement between Argent and MinRex Resources (ASX:MRR). Drilling for Wyalong was originally scheduled for February, followed by drilling at the Songling gold mine and the Kempfield polymetallic mine.
