[the net inflow of global gold ETF in 2020] the latest statistics released by the World Gold Council recently show that the global gold traded open index fund (gold ETF) performed well in 2020, with an annual net inflow of 877t (about US $47.9 billion), pushing up the global gold ETF position to 3752 tons at the end of the year.

According to the latest statistics released by the World Gold Council, the global gold exchange-traded fund (ETF) performed well in 2020, with a net inflow of 877 tons (US $47.9 billion), pushing up the global gold ETF position to 3752 tons at the end of the year.

The global spread of COVID-19 epidemic in 2020 increased the investment demand for gold. Compared with other forms of physical gold investment, the strong performance of gold ETF is particularly obvious.

From a regional point of view, in the past year, the net gold ETF inflow into North America reached 563 tons, accounting for nearly 2/3 of the global gold ETF annual net inflows; European positions increased by 260 tons; Asian gold ETF positions increased by 38 tons, with seven gold ETF listed in China last year; and gold ETF inflows in other regions were 16 tons that year.

In the first 10 months of 2020, the global gold ETF maintained a continuous net inflow trend. However, due to the sharp fall in gold prices, the easing of risk aversion in the market and the rise in risky assets such as global equities, there was a net outflow of 109 tonnes of gold ETF in November and 40 tonnes in December.
