Yamana Gold released a feasibility study on its Agua Rica copper and gold project in the Argentine province of Catamarca, which shows that the mine's proven and possible copper reserves have increased by 21 to 11.8 billion pounds and gold reserves by 12 to 7.4 million ounces compared with the end of last year. According to the report, the initial mining life of the mine is 28 years, and the annual production in the first 10 years has increased to 533 million pounds of copper equivalent.

SMM7, 24 July -: Yamana Gold released a feasibility study on its Agua Rica copper and gold project in the Argentine province of Catamarca, which shows that the mine's proven and possible copper reserves have increased by 21 to 11.8 billion pounds and gold reserves by 12 to 7.4 million ounces compared with the end of last year.

According to the report, the initial mining life of the mine is 28 years, and the annual production in the first 10 years has increased to 533 million pounds of copper equivalent.

Yamana said it expected to complete a comprehensive feasibility study by 2020.

In March, Yamana Gold, Glencore (Glencore) and Goldcorp signed an agreement to consider using Minera Alumbrera's infrastructure to develop and operate Agua Rica projects. The project will be jointly owned by three parties, with Yamana holding 56.25 per cent, Glencore 25 per cent and goldcorp 18.75 per cent.
