You have described the background and asked a lot of questions. You have made a summary of yourself, that is, how are Sino-US relations going now and how will you go in the future?
In my opinion, over the past 40 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the United States, bilateral relations have been moving forward and achieved fruitful results. In this process, the twists and turns are constantly changing, but the general trend of moving forward has not changed. Because China and the United States share extensive common interests, our common interests far outweigh our differences. Maintaining stable bilateral relations between China and the United States is beneficial not only to both sides but also to the world. In my opinion, the general trend of moving forward and continuing in the course of twists and turns will not and should not change.
Of course, while Sino-US relations remain generally stable, some contradictions and disputes are often highlighted. For some time, the outstanding performance is the Sino-US economic and trade frictions, but the consultations between China and the United States have not stopped. During last year's G20 summit, the two heads of state reached an important consensus, and consultations between the two sides are still continuing. We hope that the consultations will bear fruit and achieve mutual benefit and win-win situation. I believe that this is also the expectation of the world.
As two major economies, after decades of development and cooperation, it can be said that China and the United States already have you and me, and it is unrealistic and impossible for China and the United States to artificially separate these two major economies. We should still promote Sino-US relations, including economic and trade relations, on the principle that cooperation is better than confrontation, mutual respect, equality and mutual benefit, so that the people of the two countries can benefit from it. With regard to contradictions and differences, we believe that the people of China and the United States have the wisdom and ability to resolve control and promote Sino-US relations that are in line with the world trend to maintain stability and develop in a healthy direction.
