Chalco Hikes Aluminum Prices Dramatically in Major Markets on June 20

Based on existing capacity at alumina producers in Shanxi, bauxite in the province could be enough for use at local alumina producers for 30-50 years. When taken into account for possible alumina capacity expansions in the province, local bauxite could guarantee supply for 10 years, those surveyed by SMM expect.

Going forward, close attention should be paid to the trends in aluminum and aluminum scrap prices, changes in market sentiment, as well as improvements in downstream orders and procurement demand.
