Four years of successful counterattack! The total installed capacity of iron lithium super ternary in July exceeded that of last year from January to July. It took Lithium Iron Phosphate four years to recapture the "half of the country" that once belonged to it. Data from the Power Battery Application Branch show that in July this year, the installed capacity of power batteries for new energy vehicles in China was about 12.09GWh. Among them, the installed capacity of lithium iron phosphate battery is about 6.21GWH, accounting for 51.4%; the installed capacity of ternary battery is about 5.84GWH, accounting for 48.3%; and the total installed capacity of lithium manganate and lithium titanate is about 0.3%.

It took Lithium Iron Phosphate four years to recapture the "half of the country" that once belonged to it.

Data from the Power Battery Application Branch show that in July this year, the installed capacity of power batteries for new energy vehicles in China was about 12.09GWh. Among them, the installed capacity of lithium iron phosphate battery is about 6.21GWH, accounting for 51.4%; the installed capacity of ternary battery is about 5.84GWH, accounting for 48.3%; and the total installed capacity of lithium manganate and lithium titanate is about 0.3%.

In terms of their growth rates, the installed capacity of lithium iron phosphate increased by 261.5% in July compared with the same period last year, and the installed capacity of ternary batteries increased by 80.5% compared with the same period last year; in terms of month-on-month comparison, the growth rate of lithium iron phosphate batteries was 16.8%, while that of ternary batteries decreased by 2.2%.

The last time lithium iron phosphate batteries were installed more than ternary batteries, it was in 2017. However, as financial subsidies for new energy vehicles are linked to energy density in 2018, the proportion of lithium iron phosphate installed has plummeted, falling to 32 per cent in some months of 2019.

The proportion of ternary batteries installed has been surpassed, which can be said to be subsidized by success and failure.

With the sharp decline of financial subsidies for new energy vehicles in 2019, the balance of the two market share began to tilt towards lithium iron phosphate. In particular, with the continuous prominence of the cost advantage of lithium iron phosphate, the proportion of lithium iron phosphate installed in a single month continues to increase, the gap between lithium iron phosphate and ternary batteries continues to narrow, and achieved anti-excess in July.

The "counterattack" of lithium iron phosphate is mainly due to the large-scale defection of hot-selling passenger cars, including Tesla Model 3/Model Y, BYD Dynasty series, Hongguang MINI EV, Xiaopeng P7/P5, Nezha U, Zero running T03, Ronway Collaway clever and other best-selling models, and more and more main engine factories have begun to launch hot-selling models of lithium iron phosphate, lithium iron phosphate batteries and ternary batteries are beginning to favor lithium iron phosphate.

It is worth noting that in the past July, there are still some amazing data. Data show that from January to July this year, the installed capacity of power batteries in the Chinese market has reached 65.75GWhh, surpassing the 63.33GWh for the whole of 2020.

In terms of battery types, the installed capacity of lithium iron phosphate batteries in the first seven months was 28.73GWhh, accounting for 43.7%; the installed capacity of ternary batteries was 36.87GWhh, accounting for 56.1%. On the whole, there is still a certain gap between lithium iron phosphate and ternary batteries. However, judging from the growth trend of both, it is expected that by the end of this year, the installed capacity of lithium iron phosphate batteries will be the same as or even exceed that of ternary batteries.

Similarly, the output of new energy vehicles from January to July this year has also exceeded that of 2020. Data show that the Chinese market produced 1.462 million new energy vehicles in the first seven months of this year, compared with 1.294 million for the whole of last year. Industry bodies predict that according to the current growth in production and sales of new energy vehicles, sales of new energy vehicles in China are expected to exceed 2.4 million units in 2021.

In terms of the form of battery packaging, the installed capacity of square, soft and cylindrical batteries in the Chinese market in July were 10659.87MWh, 843.13MWh and 585.65MWH, accounting for 88.2%, 7.0% and 4.8%, respectively. Soft bag batteries also increased significantly in July, surpassing cylindrical batteries for the first time this year. It is understood that in July, the installed capacity of soft-pack batteries "counterattacked" cylindrical batteries, mainly due to the good performance of Yiwei Lithium Energy, Funeng Technology, Jiewei Power, Huading Power and other enterprises in related models. At the same time, it can also be seen that the relevant battery enterprise soft packages began to expand rapidly.

In the TOP10 table of power battery installed in Chinese market in July this year, the order of power battery installed TOP10 in China in July this year is Ningde Times, Fudi Battery (BYD holding), AVIC Lithium Power, Guoxuan Hi-Tech, LG New Energy, Yiwei Lithium Energy, Honeycomb Energy, Funeng Technology, Tafel and Jiewei Power.

The first place in the Ningde era has not been shaken in recent years. In July, the main customers are Tesla (Shanghai), Lulai, SAIC, ideal, FAW-Volkswagen, Xiaopeng, SAIC-Volkswagen, brilliance BMW, Hezhong, Weimar and other car companies.

It is worth noting that the Ningde era began to support Tesla (Shanghai) Model Y (iron lithium version), and its installed capacity increased significantly in July.

The main customers of Fudi Battery in July are still BYD cars, and provide batteries for several customers such as FAW (Red Flag E-QM5, Pentium NAT), Jinkang New Energy (Selis SF5), Dongfeng (Lanto FREE) and so on.

The main supporting companies of AVIC Lithium in July are GAC MOTOR, Chongqing Changan and so on, as well as Zhejiang Haoqing, Guangzhou Automobile Toyota and Guangzhou Automobile Honda.

The supporting car companies of Guoxuan Hi-Tech in July mainly include SAIC GM Wuling, Jianghuai Automobile, Chery New Energy, Chongqing Changan and Zero cars and so on.

This month, LG New Energy lagged behind, with the installed capacity of 423.88MWh falling out of the top 3, while AVIC Lithium Power was homeopathic, and the ranking of Guoxuan High-Tech also rose 1 place on Synchronize.

It is understood that the main customer of LG New Energy in the Chinese market is Tesla (Shanghai) factory, which provides batteries for its Model 3 and Model Y related models. But in July LG New Energy supplied only 5685 Modle 3Unix Ys at the Tesla (Shanghai) plant, halving its installed capacity by half from previous months.

The installed capacity of Yiwei LiNeng in July is about 281.83MWh. the main supporting customer is Xiaopeng Automobile, the new force of car building. Yiwei LiNeng is one of the core suppliers of Xiaopeng Automobile. At present, Xiaopeng car P7, G3 and other models all use Yiwei lithium energy ternary soft bag battery.

It is worth noting that Lithium rose to the first place in the installed capacity of soft-pack batteries in the Chinese market in July.

Honeycomb Energy ranks seventh in the same ranking as last month. Since entering TOP10 in the second half of last year, it has basically stood firm in the top 10 camps of the Chinese market. In July this year, the installed capacity of its power battery was about 201.74 MWH, an increase of 1561% over the same period last year.

The installed capacity of Funeng Technology in July is about 164.09MWH, and the main customer is GAC MOTOR. In July, Funeng Technology is Aion V and Aion S of Guangzhou Automobile Co., Ltd. It is worth mentioning that GAC recently launched an upgraded version of the Aion.S model-the Aion.S Plus model. It is reported that the energy density of the power battery system matched by Funeng Technology for the Aion.S Plus will reach 180 Whhand kg, and the mileage of the model will exceed that of the 600km. It is expected that with the hot sale of the model, it will also lead to the growth of the installed capacity of power batteries in Funeng Technology.

Tafel's installed capacity this month is about 151.34MWh. the main supporting companies are Weimar and Euler-related models.

After entering the installed capacity of TOP10 last month, Jie Wei Power continued to rank 10th in battery capacity this month. In July, the main customers of Jiewei Power are Hezhong New Energy, Chery New Energy and Great Wall Motor and so on. In addition to the rapid growth in installed capacity and ranking, Jie Wei Power has also made remarkable progress in customer development, and has successively passed the qualification verification and certification or fixed-point approval of Dongfeng Nissan, Geely commercial vehicles, SAIC and Volkswagen supplier systems since the beginning of this year. It will also lay a good foundation for the growth of its installed capacity in the future.

It should be added that the above installed capacity TOP10 only counts the installed capacity of battery enterprises in the Chinese market, but does not include the export volume and installed capacity of battery enterprises exported to overseas markets. It is understood that since the beginning of this year, including Ningde era, Yiwei Lithium Energy, Funeng Technology and other battery companies have begun to supply batteries or modules to overseas mainframe factories in bulk.

Menurut Red Metal Resources pada 3 September, proyek Farellon, bagian dari properti tembaga-emas-kobalt Carrizal milik perusahaan di dekat Vallenar, Chili, telah menyelesaikan pengiriman pertama bijih tembaga sulfida, menandai transisi proyek dari tahap pengembangan ke penjualan bijih aktual dan produksi skala kecil. Penyewa dan operator proyek, Minera KMT, mengangkut batch bijih pertama ke fasilitas pemrosesan Vallenar yang dioperasikan oleh perusahaan pertambangan milik negara Chili, ENAMI, pada 20 dan 21 Agustus. Rantai industri baterai litium melanjutkan tren divergennya minggu ini. Bijih litium spot kadar tinggi yang tersedia di pasar dan pengiriman bulan dekat tetap ketat, dengan lelang harga tinggi dan penimbunan oleh pedagang memperkuat dukungan di sisi pertambangan. Litium karbonat spot naik sebelum terkoreksi, dengan kontrak 2701 mundur dari di atas 160.000 yuan/mt ke sekitar 150.000 yuan/mt. Pasokan September diperkirakan naik sekitar 11% MoM, dengan pembelian saat harga turun oleh hilir aktif tetapi mengejar harga tinggi secara hati-hati. Perdagangan litium hidroksida tipis, dengan harga berada dalam kebuntuan di dekat 142.000 yuan/mt.
