The most stringent national standard acupuncture test to verify the highest safety lithium iron phosphate battery

Previously, in order to verify the safety of the "magazine battery", Dr. Liu Shiqiang, chief expert of the China Automotive Technology Research Center and one of the drafters of the national battery safety standard, led a team. a needle thermal diffusion test was carried out on the whole package of ternary lithium battery equipped with magazine battery system safety technology, and a historic breakthrough in the safety of ternary lithium battery was achieved. In this experiment, the whole package of lithium iron phosphate (ordinary battery) and the whole package of lithium iron phosphate (magazine battery) were compared and tested. The test condition also chooses the most stringent test condition of the national standard, that is, the acupuncture test is carried out under the condition of the thickest steel needle diameter of 8mm and the electricity of 100%SOC.

The test results show that after the whole package of lithium iron phosphate (ordinary battery) gets out of control after the steel needle is pierced into the core, the voltage decreases and the temperature rises, and the highest temperature is 329.4 ℃, and the smoke occurs for 16 minutes. After the whole package of lithium iron phosphate (magazine battery) was stabbed, the highest temperature was only 51.1 ℃. After 48 hours of rest, the monomer voltage dropped to 0V, the temperature dropped to room temperature, and there was no smoke, fire and explosion, and the state of the battery package was stable. Open the shell of the battery system and its internal structure is intact.

According to the test results, the whole packet of lithium iron phosphate acupuncture with magazine battery system safety technology is relatively ordinary, has no smoke and the temperature is only 51.1 ℃, which is the best power battery in the acupuncture thermal runaway experiment at present. refresh the safety height of lithium iron phosphate battery.

End the dispute over the route to fully meet the needs of users in different travel scenarios

Under the condition of equal service life (600km), the weight of the whole pack of lithium ternary lithium battery can be more than 100kg-150kg less than that of other lithium iron phosphate batteries, which is equivalent to the weight of 1.5-2 adults. The lightweight of the whole vehicle can significantly improve the handling performance and acceleration performance of the vehicle, which is suitable for customers who pursue driving control performance and ultra-long range; secondly, the battery life of ternary lithium battery is about 10% higher than that of lithium iron phosphate battery in low temperature environment. Longer life performance will be achieved in winter. Lithium iron phosphate, on the other hand, has an ultra-high cycle life of 4000 + times, which is twice that of other ternary lithium batteries, and has a lower cost, so it is suitable for customers with high-frequency charging needs. Therefore, the two technical routes of lithium iron phosphate battery and ternary lithium battery can meet the different travel needs of users.

Although the overall performance of ternary lithium battery is stronger, lithium iron phosphate battery has better thermal stability and better safety performance, so in the past, people have been discussing who is the future of ternary lithium battery or lithium iron phosphate battery. The emergence of magazine battery solves the problem of choosing ternary lithium battery or lithium iron phosphate battery. The safety technology of magazine battery system has four core technologies: ultra-high heat-resistant and stable cell, super heat-insulated battery safety cabin, rapid cooling system with extremely rapid cooling, and fifth-generation battery management system controlled by full-time management. the system safety performance of the battery can be improved from three aspects: battery intrinsic safety enhancement, passive safety enhancement and active safety prevention and control. Magazine battery is the only technology in the industry that can take into account the battery safety of ternary lithium and lithium iron phosphate at the same time.

The emergence of magazine batteries makes the batteries of different chemical systems safe and does not catch fire, which puts forward a new idea to solve the battery safety problem for the industry, ends the dispute over the technical route of the industry, and fully meets the needs of users in different travel scenarios.
