SHANGHAI, Jun 26 (SMM) – Last week, anode prices dropped slightly. Raw materials: Daqing Petrochemical and Fushun Petrochemical slightly raised prices due to maintenance operations, while ordinary petroleum coke prices remained stable. Needle coke prices also dropped slightly, and despite a partial recovery in downstream anode demand, lingering inventory downstream led to only a minor uplift in needle coke sales. Graphitisation: Prices, which were already near a low point, saw some manufacturers increase their quotes, anticipating summer power rationing in certain regions. However, supply outpaced demand, and transaction prices barely changed. Power conditions in key production areas warrant monitoring. On the demand side, the power and energy storage sectors saw a slight rise in demand. Nevertheless, due to this year's cost-cutting drives by end vehicle manufacturers, anode companies' profit margins could face further compression.
