300118.SZ, a photovoltaic module manufacturer, announced that it has signed a long-term sales contract with 603185.SH to sell 50000 tons of polysilicon through its wholly-owned subsidiary, focused Silicon Industry. According to the latest price estimates released by PVInfoLink, the estimated contract value is about 6.4 billion yuan (including tax) from 2021 to 2024.
On the morning of April 13, company insiders told the Financial Associated Press that the annual production capacity of the focused silicon industry is 12000 tons, which is now about 8000 tons under the efforts of the first quarter. For the sake of supply and demand, the company sells silicon material upstream in exchange for silicon wafers, which can make the sources of silicon wafers more stable and tight, and reduce manufacturing costs.
It is understood that when the subsidiary is full production, it can probably meet the component shipping needs around 4GW. Company sources said that the self-use of silicon is a dual-marketing plan, but the proportion is not yet known.
A reporter from the Financial Associated Press noted that in the "inner volume" competition in the photovoltaic industry, the component sales market is highly concentrated, and the head enterprises have increased the vertical integration one after another. Dongfang Risheng acquired a 100% stake in the focused silicon industry from Duan'an Photovoltaic through a wholly-owned company in November last year, entered the upstream silicon material, and completed the ignition in late January this year, and the silicon material is now in normal production.
The company told the Financial Associated Press that there has been a determination to lay out the upper reaches as early as 2020, and the development of an upward industrial chain can better enhance the company's overall competitiveness, reduce the company's costs, and make the company's profits better. Dun'an itself is highly qualified, and the company predicts that it will be in the case of excessive wafer production capacity in 2021. Through the acquisition and development of more upstream silicon materials, it will have more advantages for the integration of the company.
Photovoltaic industry personage Liao Wei told the Financial Associated Press that this is the first time that Dongfang Risheng has sold silicon material, and the way of exchanging silicon material for silicon wafers is conducive to ensuring the stability of the company's supply. Especially in the current situation, there is a periodic imbalance between supply and demand in the photovoltaic industry chain. Extending the industry chain upward will alleviate the volatility risk caused by the imbalance between supply and demand and enhance the anti-risk ability of enterprises.
It is worth noting that silicon material is the tightest supply and demand link in the main link of the industrial chain in the coming year, and in the overall atmosphere of tight supply, silicon material long orders have appeared repeatedly since the second half of 2020. According to Polaris Solar Photovoltaic Network statistics, seven silicon factories have signed up 1.64 million tons of silicon since 2020, and the buyers of the two single crystal wafer giants Longji and Central are far ahead.
