**[Largest Single Grid-Forming Energy Storage Project in China Connected to Grid and Commissioned]** SMM has learned that on November 8, the first phase of the Xinhua Wushi 500MW/2GWh Grid-Forming Energy Storage Project, the largest single grid-forming energy storage project in China, with a capacity of 250MW/1GWh of lithium iron phosphate battery energy storage, was connected to the grid and commissioned. Additionally, this project is also the largest vanadium redox flow-lithium iron phosphate hybrid energy storage project and the largest vanadium redox flow grid-forming energy storage project in China.
With a total investment of RMB 4.1 billion, the project utilizes two types of energy storage batteries: 250MW/1GWh of vanadium redox flow batteries and 250MW/1GWh of lithium iron phosphate batteries, providing a storage duration of 4 hours. A full charge of the entire station can store 2GWh of electricity, meeting the daily electricity demand of approximately 300,000 households.
