South Korea's Ministry of Environment will conduct an administrative announcement on October 31st on the "Public Notice on the Recognition of Circular Resources", which for the first time will classify discarded electric vehicle batteries from "waste" to "circular resources", and enterprises will not need to apply for a separate circular resource utilization permit for discarded batteries.
The "Public Notice" also stipulates that discarded batteries can only be recognized as circular resources when they are not soaked, deformed, leaking, damaged, and without fire and explosion risks, and can be recycled again. In addition, when producing and recycling discarded batteries, they must also be registered on the "Circular Resource Information Center" website.
