SHANGHAI, Apr 25 - In order to protect market liquidity, the People’s Bank of China (PBOC) has recently launched an increase in reverse repurchase operations.
On April 21 and 22, the central bank’s 7-day reverse repurchase operations increased to 88 billion yuan and 89 billion yuan respectively, achieving a net investment of 73 billion yuan and 89 billion yuan respectively.
On April 24, PBOC conducted a 100 billion-level reverse repurchase operation for the first time since April.
On the April 25, the central bank implemented another 170 billion yuan 7-day reverse repurchase operation, with a net 132 billion yuan injected in the open market that day.
