China Gold Output Halved in Q1 2017, While Consumption Remains Decent

China produced a total of 101.197 tonnes of gold in the first quarter of 2017, down 10.366 tonnes or 9.29% from last year’s level.

SHANGHAI, May 3 (SMM) – According to China Gold Association, China produced a total of 101.197 tonnes of gold in the first quarter of 2017, down 10.366 tonnes or 9.29% from last year’s level.

However, China’s gold consumption was 304.14 tonnes (excluding export and gold financial investment) in Q1 2017, up 14.73% YoY.
