SHANGHAI, May 31 (SMM) – According to data from the National Bureau of Statistics, the Manufacturing Purchasing Managers Index (PMI) in May was 48.8%, down 0.4 percentage point from the previous month. This means that the level of manufacturing prosperity fell slightly.
In May, the non-manufacturing business activity index was 54.5%, a decrease of 1.9 percentage points from the previous month, still higher than the threshold. This shows that the non-manufacturing industry continued to recover.
The comprehensive PMI output index in May was 52.9%, a decrease of 1.5 percentage points from the previous month, indicating that the overall production and operation of Chinese enterprises continued to recover.
