Most of the mines surveyed by SMM said they have not yet received notices on production restrictions for the 100th anniversary of the founding of CPC in early July.

SHANGHAI, Jun 10 (SMM) – Most of the mines surveyed by SMM said they have not yet received notices on production restrictions for the 100th anniversary of the founding of CPC in early July. Some mines are concerned that the use of explosives may be restricted for the 100th anniversary, which could affect production at dressing plants, if they have no ROM stockpiles. For now, the impact is relatively small.

Mines in Baoding said safety inspections are strict following an accident in Chicheng and have not received notices on production restrictions for CPC’s 100th anniversary. However, they expect production suspensions of 15 days to three months as they shut down for three months for the 70th anniversary of China’s founding.

Mines in Zhangjiakou began to resume production recently following an accident in Chicheng. However, supply of explosives in Chicheng remains restricted, and local mines have to mine by mechanical equipment. Mines expect explosives supply to be under control for CPC’s 100th anniversary and the Winter Olympics.

Large mines in Liaoyang has received notices from the local government that explosives supply will be restricted for the 100th anniversary. The mine said although it can stockpile ROM in advance, production may still be affected slightly. In Chaoyang, it was heard that local mines might shut down for safety checks.

Mining activities are likely to stop for 15-20 days for the 100th anniversary. Mines with sufficient ROM said this will have little impact on their concentrate production, while those without enough ROM said production of dressing plants will be affected.
