Các nhà mua thép cây tại Đài Loan đã bắt đầu đặt hàng, giúp các nhà máy thép trong nước nhận được khối lượng đáng kể. Theo báo cáo, Feng Hsin Steel đã nhận được 20.000 tấn đơn hàng, trong khi một nhà máy thép tại Cao Hùng nhận hơn 10.000 tấn. Bất chấp các đơn hàng này, các nhà sản xuất không có dấu hiệu tạm ngừng bán, vì một số nhà phân phối ở miền nam Đài Loan vẫn dè dặt tham gia thị trường. Lượng đặt hàng này chỉ là đợt xả hàng hạn chế sau mười tuần không có đơn hàng lớn, chỉ mang lại sự giảm bớt khiêm tốn cho các nhà máy công suất cao. Mô hình mua hàng hạ nguồn giờ đây phản ánh tốc độ giảm tồn kho chậm hơn thay vì chỉ cân nhắc thuần túy về tài chính. Người mua đã chuyển sang mô hình mua khối lượng thấp, giới hạn lượng mua ở mức họ có thể nhanh chóng bán lại.
