Brazil Uncovers Rich Rare Earth, Phosphate, Uranium Reserves in Piaui's Parnaiba Basin

[SMM News: Brazil Discovers Rare Earth, Phosphate, and Uranium Resources in Piaui State] Brazil's Geological Survey (SGB) has made a significant discovery in the Parnaiba sedimentary basin in northeastern Piaui State: the basin contains high concentrations of rare earth elements, phosphates, and uranium. The SGB has long been dedicated to research in the eastern part of the Parnaiba basin, where the proportion of rare earths, phosphates, and uranium near the surface is notably high, reaching or even exceeding global standard reserve levels. Chemical research results indicate that in the eastern Parnaiba basin, the content of heavy rare earth elements such as dysprosium, erbium, ytterbium, and yttrium ranges from 259 ppm to 2,188 ppm. SGB data show that in near-surface analyses, phosphate content can reach up to 260,200 ppm, and uranium content can reach up to 1,268 ppm.
