BYD launches SEALION 7 all-electric SUV in Mexico

BYD launched its key midsize electric SUV, the BYD SEALION 7 (named Sealion 07 EV in China), for the Mexican market.

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On January 10-11, 2025, the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship officially kicked off in Mexico. During the event, BYD showcased several new energy vehicle models and launched its key midsize electric SUV, the BYD SEALION 7 (named Sealion 07 EV in China), for the Mexican market.

Additionally, BYD's premium brand, YANGWANG, made its Latin American debut with the U9 pure electric supercar.

Jorge Vallejo, General Director of BYD Mexico, emphasized the company's commitment to innovation and sustainability: "We will continue to bring more models to meet the diverse needs of Mexican consumers. Through our wide range of new energy vehicle products, we aim to support green mobility in Mexico."

The BYD SEALION 7 became a highlight of the event, priced at 949,800 Mexican pesos (approximately RMB 339,000).

Meanwhile, the YANGWANG U9 full-electric supercar captivated audiences with its groundbreaking features, including a "dancing mode," vertical jumps, and on-the-spot 360-degree turns.

The YANGWANG U9, which went on sale in China in February 2024 at a price of 1.68 million yuan, has already begun customer deliveries. In November last year, the U9 achieved an impressive Nürburgring lap time of 7 minutes and 17.900 seconds during a phase of testing, showcasing its exceptional power performance.
