Recently, China Energy Construction Guangdong Thermal Power has connected the Huadian Xinjiang Luntai 100 MW photovoltaic project to the grid for power generation.
The project is located on the edge of the Taklimakan Desert in southern Xinjiang, covering an area of about 3200 acres with a total installed capacity of 100 MW. It is one of the second batch of large-scale wind and photovoltaic bases in desert, Gobi, and desertification areas designated by the country.
After the project is completed, it can provide 137 million kilowatt-hours of green electricity to the local area every year, save 55,700 tons of standard coal consumption annually, and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by over 167,000 tons per year. It can effectively improve the local power structure and inject "green energy" power into the high-quality development of the economy and society in southern Xinjiang.
