Myanmar's tin ore and concentrate exports hit a multi-year high in the first quarter of 2022, but this was mainly due to the sell-off of concentrate stocks by the local government. It is estimated that the sell-off of concentrate stocks in the first four months of last year was close to 10,000 mt in metal content.
From January to February 2023, China’s tin ore imports from Myanmar were about 5,800 mt in metal content, a year-on-year decrease of 55%. This accounted for 55.2% of China’s total tin ore imports.
