Blast Furnace Operating Rates Rise amid Production Resumptions

SHANGHAI, Feb 15 (SMM) - According to SMM survey, the average operating rate of steel mills’ blast furnaces added 0.45 percentage point from a week ago to 92.12% as of February 15. The average capacity utilisation rate of blast furnaces gained 0.6 percentage point week-on-week to 93.05%. The daily average pig iron output of the steel mills in SMM’s survey sample stood at 2.22 million mt this week, an increase of 12,300 mt from the previous week. The domestic daily average pig iron output is estimated at 2.65 million mt this week, an increase of 14,700 mt from the previous week.
