Chinese Aluminium Extrusion Exports Rose Seasonally in Nov

SHANGHAI, Dec 21 (SMM) - According to customs data, Chinese aluminium extrusion export volume (HS code 76041010, 76041090, 76042100, 76042910, 76042990) stood at 82,200 mt in November 2022, a month-on-month growth of 8,100 mt or 10.9% and a year-on-year drop of 6.7%. Among them, the exports registered in Guangdong province account for 51.2% of the total exports, followed by Shandong (12%) and Hunan (3.9%). Specifically, the exports from Hunan rose palpably, while those from Anhui fell, with the other provinces posting few changes.

The export market also remained largely stable when it comes to the final destinations. The aluminium extrusion exported to Vietnam stood at 7,641 mt, taking up 9.3% of the total exports; the Philippines stood at 5,413 mt, taking up 6.6% of the total; and Israel recorded 4,427 mt, taking up 5.4%.

The export volume of aluminium extrusion in November showed seasonal changes, that is, the export volume fell since the middle of the year until October and then rebounded in November. But the growth rate was less than in previous years.

In the past three years, the European Union, Southeast Asia, the United States, Australia and other countries and regions have issued anti-dumping and anti-subsidy policies for Chinese aluminium extrusion, and there are still some penalties that have not yet been announced. In 2022, the export volume of aluminium extrusion is expected to account for 15% of the total export volume of aluminium semis, which is lower than 17% in 2021. It is expected that in the context of the stable export of aluminium semis in the future, the proportion and volume of exported aluminium extrusion will continue to decline slightly.
