SHANGHAI, Oct 18 (SMM) - Today, the prices of silicon were stable. The prices of standard #553 silicon stood at 20,100-20,300 yuan/mt at Huangpugang; 441# silicon 21,600-21,800 yuan//mt; 3303# silicon 21,800-22,000 yuan/mt.
The downstream demand for silicon metal still diverged. The demand for polysilicon remained strong as new production capacity was put into production, while that for silicone monomers decreased amid the maintenance. Most aluminium alloy users still digested the inventory. In terms of supply, the overall quotations offered by silicon factories were relatively firm. Silicon factories were unwilling to ship at low prices while traders slightly lowered their prices. The overall performance of silicon metal market was stable.
