Stocks dropped 28,000 mt from Apr 29 to stand at 1.44 million mt as of May 5

SHANGHAI, May 5 (SMM) – Social inventories of primary aluminium across eight consumption areas in China, including SHFE warrants, dropped 28,000 mt from Monday April 29 to stand at 1.44 million mt as of Sunday May 5, SMM data showed.

Details:

Wuxi, Jiangsu – 517,000 mt

Shanghai – 284,000 mt

Nanhai, Guangdong – 319,000 mt

Gongyi, Henan – 101,000 mt

Hangzhou, Zhejiang – 117,000 mt

Tianjin – 59,000 mt

Linyi, Shandong – 20,000 mt

Chongqing –25,000 mt

Oman to Launch Major Low-Carbon Aluminum Projects in Duqm SEZ, Including $2.4B CMOC Electrolytic Plant

According to foreign media reports, Oman plans to launch three major low-carbon aluminum projects within the Duqm Special Economic Zone (SEZAD). The most notable one is an electrolytic aluminum project invested by CMOC Group Limited. With a total investment of approximately 2.4 billion Omani Rials, the project will be built with an annual electrolytic aluminum production capacity of 530,000 tonnes, supported by downstream deep-processing facilities planned to reach an annual capacity of 620,000 tonnes of aluminum billets and pre-cast slabs.

Auto Sales Slump in April, NEVs Show Growth Amid Market Challenges

[SMM Aluminum News] According to CAAM data, auto production and sales in April reached 2.575 million units and 2.526 million units respectively, down 11.7% and 12.9% MoM respectively, and down 1.7% and 2.5% YoY respectively. NEV production and sales in April reached 1.32 million units and 1.344 million units respectively, up 5.5% and 9.7% YoY respectively. NEV sales accounted for 53.2% of total new vehicle sales.
