Aluminium inventory dips for first time since start of Feb

China's inventory of aluminium, including SHFE warrants, dipped for the first time since the start of February and stood at 2.28 million mt as of Thursday March 22, SMM data showed.

SHANGHAI, Mar 22 (SMM) – China's inventory of aluminium, including SHFE warrants, dipped for the first time since the start of February and stood at 2.28 million mt as of Thursday March 22, SMM data showed. This is down from 2.29 million mt on Monday March 19.

Details:

Wuxi, Jiangsu – 916,000 mt

Shanghai – 439,000 mt

Nanhai, Guangdong – 442,000 mt

Gongyi, Henan – 202,000 mt

Hangzhou, Zhejiang – 165,000 mt

Tianjin – 58,000 mt

Linyi, Shandong – 39,000 mt

Chongqing – 20,200 mt

As of May 29, the SMM average duty-paid premiums for European P1020A aluminum ingots stood at $587.5/mt, down $12.5/mt WoW; the duty-unpaid premiums for European P1020A aluminum ingots were $500/mt, down $7.5/mt WoW. As premiums in other major consuming regions pulled back, this will have a certain impact on offers and transactions in the Asian market.
