Farizon Auto forms strategic cooperation with Jining, Tai'an cities

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On April 20, Farizon New Energy Commercial Vehicle Group ("Farizon Auto"), a subsidiary of Geely Holding Group focusing on commercial vehicle segment, signed cooperation framework agreements with the municipal governments of Jining and Tai'an cities, respectively, aiming to conduct in-depoth cooperation on the promotion and application of new energy and methanol-hydrogen vehicles, as well as the construction of green methanol production and refueling systems.

In recent years, Shandong Province has accelerated the construction of pilot zones for green, low-carbon and high-quality development. As an major resource-rich city, transportation hub, and regional economic powerhouse in Shandong Province, Jining city is boosting the development of new energy and renewable energy industry, and accelerating the construction of wind power, photovoltaic, geothermal, and new energy storage projects. 

Tai'an City, focusing on ecological and green development, has emphasized the development of green, low-carbon industries, working on to become a "city of energy storage" and a "photovoltaic + equipment manufacturing base".

Leveraging Geely's nearly 20 years of experience in the methanol field, the company has developed a distinctive strategic technology path of "methanol-hydrogen + pure electric" and have gone into full industrialized operation.

Meanwhile, it promotes the integrated development of green methanol production, methanol refueling, and methanol-electric vehicles, constructing a green methanol transportation ecosystem that encompasses methanol, vehicles, freight, stations, finance, and more.

Under the agreement, based on the large scale of the existing commercial vehicle market in Jining city, the prominent advantages of the special vehicle industry cluster, and the scale of methanol industry, both parties will conduct in-depth cooperation in areas including the promotion and application of methanol-hydrogen electric vehicles, construction of methanol refueling systems, and green low-carbon methanol production.

Tai'an City and Farizon Auto will tap into their respective advantages in application scenarios, product technology, brand, etc. Based on the Phase I project of Farizon Bentu in Xintai city, they will conduct comprehensive cooperation on the promotion and application of new energy vehicles and methanol-hydrogen electric vehicles, as well as the construction of refueling systems.
