Dongfeng Nissan rolls off first mass-produced units of Pathfinder SUV

Beijing (Gasgoo)- The inaugural batch of Dongfeng Nissan's latest SUV, the Pathfinder, successfully rolled off the production line at the automaker’s Xiangyang plant on December 15, according to a post on the Xiangyang Daily’s WeChat account.

Anticipated for a full-scale market launch in the first quarter of 2024, the Pathfinder is geared to rival vehicles like Volkswagen's Teramont and Toyota's Highlander upon its market introduction.

Showcased at the Auto Guangzhou 2023, this mid-to-large-sized SUV embodies Dongfeng Nissan’s "Neo Daqi" design philosophy, fusing Eastern aesthetic trends to create an upscale and sophisticated appearance through innovative design elements. 

Distinctive in its approach, the vehicle introduces a multi-spoke wheel design reminiscent of enclosed wheel hubs, contributing to its unique visual identity. It boasts dimensions of 5,130mm/1,981mm/1,767mm (length/width/height) with a substantial 2,900mm wheelbase.

Internally, the Pathfinder inherits the spaciousness of its original 8-seater variant from the North American model, and caters to Chinese users with a wider and more comfortable 6-seat configuration along with an optional 7-seater variant to cater to diverse user preferences. 

Comfort features include seat ventilation akin to those found in luxury vehicles, and expanded heating coverage of 0.35m², extending beyond the buttocks to address the lower back, resonating with Chinese users' preference for comprehensive warmth.

Powering the Pathfinder is a 252-horsepower 2.0T four-cylinder turbocharged engine paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission. The higher-spec variants will boast a four-wheel-drive system, ensuring a degree of off-road capability.
