NDRC: Implements work-for-relief in flood control, disaster relief, and post-disaster recovery and reconstruction

A few days ago, the Regional Revitalization Department of the National Development and Reform Commission issued a special notice to deploy relevant provinces to vigorously implement work-for-relief in flood control, disaster relief, and post-disaster recovery and reconstruction. We will fully support disaster-affected areas in coordinating post-disaster recovery and reconstruction and consolidating and expanding the achievements of poverty alleviation. The notice requires that in the implementation of the work-for-relief special fund project, relevant localities should urge and guide the project implementation units and local governments to extensively organize the disaster-affected people to participate in the construction of the project, timely and full payment of labor remuneration, and help the poor people earn the income by labor at their doorstep. It is necessary to rely on the work-for-relief projects to actively carry out training of workers, improve the employment skills of the disaster-affected people, set up public welfare posts reasonably, and give priority to absorbing the disaster-affected people to participate in the late management and maintenance of the project.
