The operating rates of key copper rod producers using copper cathode were around 72.61% on average last week, a drop of 2.67 percentage points from a week earlier.
There was a precipitous reduction in orders last week, driven more by sluggish end-user demand than higher copper prices.
Orders for downstream cables and enamelled wires did not see a continuous increase last week, and orders that surged in the middle of the month due to the drop in copper prices were also completed last week.
In addition to bleak orders at copper cathode rod producers, downstream delivery taking also slowed down further.
