Aluminium billet inventories fell for the second straight week

Inventories of aluminium billet in China have declined for the second consecutive week as of July 16 as arrivals were limited and deliveries remained at high levels.

SHANGHAI, Jul 16 (SMM) – Inventories of aluminium billet in China have declined for the second consecutive week as of July 16 as arrivals were limited and deliveries remained at high levels. 


SMM data showed that stocks of 6063 aluminium billet across the five major consumption areas – Foshan, Wuxi, Huzhou, Changzhou and Nanchang – in China fell 7,200 mt from a week ago to 65,000 mt as of Thursday July 16, after a drop of 900 mt in the previous week.


Inventories in Foshan, Wuxi and Nanchang declined this week, while stocks in Changzhou edged higher and inventories in Huzhou held largely unchanged.
