Losses for Zinc Concentrate Imports Deteriorate, SMM Reports

SHANGHAI, Aug. 15 (SMM) – Import losses for zinc concentrate widened to 395-943 yuan per tonne last week since the SMM/LME zinc price ratio slid to 8.23, SMM reports.

Zinc Inventories in Three Markets Stay Low, SMM Reports

TCs of domestic zinc concentrate (50%) traded at 3,900-4,400 yuan per tonne (zinc content, price to factory) this past week, almost flat at the previous week’s level. TCs for imported zinc concentrate (50%) traded around $50-60 per dry metric tonne, SMM data show.

Zinc to See Technical Fallback, SMM Foresees

Domestic zinc concentrate TCs will hold steady in the near term given ore tightness and high profit at zinc smelters, SMM predicts.
