On December 26, according to China Space News, the 510th Institute of the China Academy of Space Technology (CAST) has achieved a series of major breakthroughs in the development of aluminum aerospace pressure vessels.
Four products have been successively developed and passed qualification tests:
A 16.5-liter aluminum-lined carbon fiber composite krypton gas cylinder
A 100-liter aluminum alloy diaphragm tank
A 490-liter aluminum alloy surface tension propellant tank
A 950-liter composite-reinforced aluminum alloy surface tension propellant tank
This milestone marks the institute's official transition from the titanium alloy era into a new phase of "titanium-aluminum synergy" and establishes a "dual-track development" pattern for its pressure vessel products.
