[SMM Data] SMM, December 19: According to the SMM survey, as of this Thursday (December 19), the total zinc ingot inventory across seven regions tracked by SMM stood at 82,200 mt, down by 9,200 mt from December 12 and by 7,200 mt from December 16, indicating a decline in domestic inventory.
Shanghai region inventory decreased as warehouse arrivals in Shanghai remained limited during the week, while downstream restocking and purchasing activities continued, leading to a further decline in overall inventory. Tianjin region inventory also decreased due to ongoing transportation disruptions, with limited warehouse arrivals in the region, resulting in a significant drop in zinc ingot inventory. Guangdong region inventory saw a slight decline as warehouse arrivals were normal during the week, but the futures market continued to fall, prompting some downstream buyers to purchase at lower prices.
Overall, the combined inventory of the three regions decreased by 6,800 mt, while the total inventory across seven regions dropped by 7,200 mt.
