[Azerbaijan Ministry of Energy and Two Chinese Companies Sign Memorandum of Understanding on Energy Storage Cooperation] Recently, the Azerbaijan Ministry of Energy signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation with China Southern Power Grid International (Hong Kong) Co., Ltd. and PowerChina East China Survey and Design Institute under the framework of COP29. The document stipulates cooperation between Azerbaijan and China in the fields of pumped hydro storage (PHS), battery energy storage systems (BESS), high-voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission systems, as well as other renewable energy transmission, distribution, and digitalization technologies. A management committee and working groups will be established to enhance coordination and ensure efficient cooperation.
