China's Bauxite Imports Reach Record High in August 2024, Despite Guinean Rainy Season Challenges

According to the General Administration of Customs of China, China imported 15,546,000 tonnes of bauxite in August 2024, representing a month-on-month increase of 3.64% and a year-on-year increase of 34.23%, reaching a new record high for single-month imports. In comparison, the figure for July was 15,000,700 tonnes. From January to August 2024, China's total bauxite imports amounted to 107,897,400 tonnes, marking a year-on-year growth of 11.8%.
