[Three Departments: Strengthening the Construction of Standards for Carbon Footprint and Carbon Labeling of Products] The National Development and Reform Commission and two other departments issued the "Notice on Further Strengthening the Action Plan for the Construction of Standards and Metrology Systems for Carbon Peaking and Carbon Neutrality (2024-2025)", which mentions strengthening the construction of standards for carbon footprint and carbon labeling of products. It proposes to publish national standards for general requirements on the quantification of product carbon footprints, unifying the principles, methods, and data quality requirements for carbon footprint accounting of specific products. Accelerate the development of national standards for the carbon footprints of new energy vehicles, photovoltaic products, lithium batteries, and other products to support the new advantages of foreign trade exports. Carry out the research and development of carbon footprint standards for key products such as electronics, electrical appliances, plastics, and building materials. Research and formulate administrative measures for carbon labeling and certification of products, and develop relevant national standards for carbon labeling.
