SMM Daily Report: December 12th, Battery-grade Lithium Carbonate Prices Drop by 3000 RMB/Ton
On December 12th, SMM's battery-grade lithium carbonate index was 112,927 RMB/ton, a decrease of 1,888 RMB/ton compared to the previous working day; battery-grade lithium carbonate was priced at 106,000-118,000 RMB/ton, with an average price of 112,000 RMB/ton, a decrease of 0.30 RMB/ton compared to the previous working day; industrial-grade lithium carbonate was priced at 95,000-102,000 RMB/ton, with an average price of 98,500 RMB/ton, a decrease of 0.30 RMB/ton compared to the previous working day.
Today, most lithium salt factories in the market are still mainly engaged in long-term contracts, but due to downstream battery companies gradually reducing orders and production, combined with the continuous decline in spot prices, the market is experiencing ongoing downward pressure. Downstream battery companies have significantly reduced their overall purchasing, with very few transactions taking place, and the pace of long-term contract deliveries is gradually slowing, leading to increased pressure on some salt producers to make deliveries and the continued downward shift in market transactions.
