Lithium Salt Plants in Jiangxi Forced to Halt Production due to Natural Gas Pipelines Maintenance, Here's the Impact

According to SMM survey on July 3, the maintenance of natural gas pipelines in Shanggao, Jiangxi Province is in progress. Affected by the maintenance, local lithium carbonate enterprises closed for maintenance starting July 3-4. It is estimated that the maintenance will last 5-10 days, and the local lithium carbonate output will be affected by about 250-500 mt.

SMM found that because the natural gas line in the Shanggao area was connected to the Yifeng area, the lithium salt plants in the Yichun were also affected. Related lithium salt plants in Yichun shut on July 3 for maintenance which will last for 5 days. That will affect the output by about 1,000 mt of lithium carbonate equivalent.

SMM expects that the overhaul will have a certain impact on the future supply of lithium carbonate. That will encourage lithium salt factories to raise prices.
