Lithium iron phosphate materials prices remained in a downward track in April. In the first half of the month, there was no significant change in the market as a whole, and battery factories still purchased as required. In the second half of the month, market inquiries increased as the prices of lithium carbonate stabilised. In terms of different markets, the performance of motive battery market was slack.
Economic benefits of energy storage battery emerged at the end of the month on the back of the implementation of subsidy policies and lower battery cell prices, improving the overall performance. In terms of raw material costs, lithium carbonate prices stopped falling at the end of the month, while iron phosphate prices declined. However, due to a lag of cost transmission, the cost of lithium iron phosphate stabilised.
In May, the prices of lithium iron phosphate are expected to rebound as a result of rising costs.
