Domestic output of industrial-grade lithium carbonate stood at 13,793 mt in March, a month-on-month drop of 9% but a year-on-year growth of 15%.
Although the output of lithium carbonate extracted from salt lake increased amid rising temperatures, higher raw material costs than lithium salt prices pushed some producers using purchased lithium concentrate to losses. This drove those producers to cut or suspend production. As a result, industrial-grade lithium carbonate production in March fell month-on-month.
