The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) unveiled on April 4 the operation of the lithium-ion battery industry from January to February 2023.
The total output of lithium batteries in China continued to increase From January to February. The output exceeded 102 GWh, up 24% year over year.
The output of energy storage batteries exceeded 15 GWh, and the installed capacity of motive batteries for new energy vehicles was about 38 GWh. The export trade has grown steadily. From January to February, the total export of lithium batteries reached 70.6 billion yuan.
The output of CAM, anode materials, separators and electrolytes reached 265,000 mt, 215,000 mt, 2.45 billion square meters, and 130,000 mt, respectively.
From January to February, the output of lithium carbonate and lithium hydroxide reached 61,000 mt and 44,000 mt respectively, and the market price gradually declined from a high level. From January to February, the average prices of battery grade lithium carbonate and lithium hydroxide (fine powder grade) were 460,000 yuan/mt and 474,000 yuan/mt respectively.
