Intraday Lithium Metal Prices Fell by Another 10,000 yuan/mt

SHANGHAI, May 17 (SMM) - SMM data shows that although the lithium metal spot prices continue to drop recently, there is no doubt that the current lithium prices are still high. According to SMM historical prices, lithium metal spot prices began to rise rapidly since the beginning of the fourth quarter of 2020.

The average spot price of lithium metal rose from 485,000 yuan/mt at the beginning of 2021 to 3.015 million yuan/mt as of today, an increase of up to 521.65%.

However, since the middle of April, lithium metal prices have entered the downward trajectory. As of May 17, lithium metal spot prices have fallen to 2.965-3.065 million yuan/mt, with an average of 3.015 million yuan/mt, marking another single day decline of 10,000 yuan/mt.
