Ministry of Industry and Information Technology: bring silicon carbide composites into the development plan related to industrial scientific and technological innovation during the 14th five-year Plan.

On August 24, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology made public the letter on the reply to proposal No. 1095 (No. 126 of posts and Telecommunications) of the fourth session of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese people's political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).

Among them, it is proposed that the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will focus on major key technological breakthroughs and innovative application needs, further strengthen industrial policy guidance, and incorporate carbon-based materials into the relevant development plan of the raw material industry during the 14th five-year Plan. Silicon carbide composites and carbon matrix composites will be included in the development plan related to industrial scientific and technological innovation in the 14th five-year Plan, in order to comprehensively break through the key core technologies and conquer the "sticking neck" varieties. We will improve the quality of new carbon-based materials and other products, and promote the upgrading of the industrial base and the modernization of the industrial chain.

The state attaches great importance to the innovation and development of carbon-based new materials industry. The guiding opinions on promoting the steady growth of the Building Materials Industry, adjusting the structure and increasing efficiency issued by the General Office of the State Council, the guidance on accelerating the Innovation and Development of the New Materials Industry issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the guidelines for the Development of the New Materials Industry all regard carbon-based new materials as key support targets. In view of the development of carbon-based new materials industry, special policies such as "Action Plan for accelerating the Development of carbon Fiber Industry" and "some opinions on accelerating the Innovation and Development of graphene Industry" have been issued. High-performance carbon fiber, graphene and other new carbon-based materials are included in the "demonstration catalogue of the first batch of key new materials".
