Weiqiao Aluminum & Electricity Expands Capacity Rapidly  

SHANGHAI, Jul. 25 (SMM) – Shandong Weiqiao Aluminum & Electricity Co., which is a power-alumina-aluminum processing integrated company fully owned by China Hongqiao Group, expanded its aluminum alloy product capacity rapidly over the past years.

The company’s aluminum alloy product capacity totaled 4.91 million tonnes, according to data released by the company in March 2017, up sharply from 1.84 million tonnes in 2013, 2.74 million tonnes in 2014 and 4 million tonnes in 2015.

So far, installed capacity at its captive power plant totals 8.73 million kwh, and the captive power plant contributes to 82.75% of its total power consumption.  

Shandong Weiqiao Aluminum & Electricity has an annual capacity of 7 million tonnes of alumina and 790,000 tonnes of aluminum plate, strip and foil.
