Groundbreaking Ceremony Held for Largest, Most Advanced Energy Storage Project in Shanxi Zone

Published: Apr 28, 2026 17:50
On April 22, the Huajing Heshun 400,000 kW/800,000 kWh energy storage project in Shanxi Transformation and Comprehensive Reform Demonstration Zone held its groundbreaking ceremony at Xiaohe Emerging Industry Park. The Huajing Heshun 400,000 kW/800,000 kWh energy storage project is currently the largest, most technologically advanced, and most fully functional energy storage rod project in the zone. The project adopts advanced ESS technology from China, integrating power grid support, frequency regulation and peak shaving, new energy accommodation, and emergency supply guarantee. Once completed, it will significantly enhance the safe and stable operation of the regional power grid, and is of great significance for strengthening power grid regulation capacity, improving new energy accommodation levels, reducing resource utilization costs, and promoting the optimization of regional energy structures.

From Single Anchor to Triple Linkage: Reshaping Cost Pressure in the Energy Storage Cell Supply Chain
First, multi-material indexation has become normal practice in domestic cell pricing. However, passing these costs through to project owners is far from smooth. Second, the adjustment cycle in overseas markets is shortening. Yet even a lithium-carbonate-only linkage faces resistance at the owner level. Third, cost pressure is concentrating heavily at the integration stage.
