[SMM Analysis] Operating Rates of Refined Tin Smelters in Yunnan and Jiangxi Slightly Decreased

According to the latest weekly survey data from SMM, as of August 9, the operating rates of refined tin smelters in Yunnan and Jiangxi showed a slight decline, with an overall operating rate of 63.77%. Specifically, the operating rate of smelters in Yunnan last week was 65.16%, remaining stable compared to the previous week. Further investigation by SMM revealed that most refined tin smelters in Yunnan operated normally last week, with some companies yet to start equipment maintenance. However, a few companies have reduced their production plans. Due to tight raw material supply, some companies are expected to gradually decrease their production. Therefore, it may be difficult for the operating rates of smelters in Yunnan to increase in the future. On the other hand, the operating rate of smelters in Jiangxi last week slightly fell to 61.4%. Currently, most smelters in Jiangxi operate normally, with no recent plans for equipment maintenance. However, due to the increasingly tight supply of tin ore, a few companies have slightly reduced their production plans. Nevertheless, most secondary smelters indicated that their raw material supply was sufficient, and they are expected to maintain the current operating rate in the future.
