Shanghai (Gasgoo)- In March 2024, XPENG delivered 9,026 vehicles, marking a remarkable 99% soar compared to the previous month and a notable 29% jump year-over-year, according to the monthly sales results the Chinese electric vehicle maker issued today.

Of the vehicles delivered last month, the XPENG X9 model contributed to a delivery volume of 3,946 units. Since its market launch, the all-electric MPV model has so far accumulated nearly 8,000 units in deliveries.

Overall, XPENG delivered 21,821 vehicles in the first quarter of 2024, reflecting a substantial 20% increase from the previous year.

In March, the Company announced strategic partnerships with leading car dealer groups in Thailand, Singapore, and Malaysia, laying the groundwork for the introduction of its right-hand drive G6 model. Moreover, XPENG made its official debut in the German market by launching two smart electric vehicle models: the launch edition of the G9 SUV and the P7 sedan. These endeavors align with XPENG's broader strategy to deepen its presence in global markets, including France, Italy, and the UK.

XPENG is set to unveil its new brand at the upcoming Auto China 2024 in Beijing later this month, showcasing smart driving in the era of AI-defined mobility.

On April 21 (local time), the Center of Automotive Management (CAM) released its “Automotive Innovation Report 2026”. Chinese automaker BYD ranked first in the global automotive innovation ranking with 157 points, surpassing last year’s leader Volkswagen (143 points). Mercedes-Benz came in third with 134 points. XPeng ranked fourth with 128 points, followed by BMW and Geely Group in fifth and sixth places. Renault, Toyota, General Motors, and Hyundai also made the top ten. This marks the first time since the launch of the “Automotive Innovation Study” in 2005 that a Chinese automaker has taken the top position. According to CAM, the ranking evaluates automakers based on their performance in electrification, intelligent technologies, and overall innovation capabilities.

Hyundai Completes U.S. EV Vertical Integration as Battery Plants Near Launch
Hyundai Motor Group is set to begin operations at battery plants in Georgia, jointly established with LG Energy Solution and SK On, with one facility starting this month and the other later this year. Once fully ramped up, the group will secure annual EV production capacity exceeding 600,000 units in the U.S. LG Energy Solution’s plant will have an annual capacity of 30 GWh, supplying cells for models such as the Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 9 produced at HMGMA. Meanwhile, SK On’s 35 GWh capacity will be converted into battery packs by Hyundai Mobis and fully supplied to Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis EVs manufactured in the U.S.
