Northern China Advances Clean Heating Initiative with Focus on Rural Areas

Continuing to promote clean heating in the northern regions, the initiative is being advanced in a targeted manner, with a focus on the plain areas where the use of scattered coal has been basically eliminated, and gradual progress is being made in replacing scattered coal with clean energy in mountainous areas, ensuring that the masses can stay warm in winter. This measure will increase the electricity load in rural areas and promote the development of clean energy in rural areas. The Energy Bureau of Qinghai Province has issued the "2022 Qinghai Province New Energy Development and Construction Plan", which includes supporting 1 million kilowatts of wind power and photovoltaic projects for clean heating. At the same time, Hebei Province has implemented the construction of 133,000 household photovoltaic projects in conjunction with "power grid upgrading and transformation" and "electric heating transformation projects" to address the "clean heating in winter" issue in remote areas.
