Operating rates at lead-acid battery makers dipped 0.07 percentage point on week

SHANGHAI, Mar 26 (SMM) – Operating rates across lead-acid battery producers in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Hubei and Hebei provinces lost 0.07 percentage point from the previous week to 78.27% as of Friday March 26.

End-user consumption of e-bike batteries and automotive batteries gradually weakened, which dampened distributors’ enthusiasm for procurements. If orders continue to shrink in April, battery makers are likely to reduce output.

Some small and medium scale producers of energy storage batteries and communication batteries were not sure whether to maintain current operating rates in April as demand for their products was sluggish.
